Atypiske ansigtssmerter og neuropatiske smerter
I denne artikel beskrives klassifikation, diagnostik og håndtering af atypiske ansigtssmerter, atypiske tandsmerter/odontalgi, neuropatiske orofaciale smerter samt trigeminusneuralgi. Alle disse tilstande er kroniske smertetilstande i mund og ansigt uden påviselig sygdom ved kliniske og radiologiske undersøgelser. De udgør en differentialdiagnostisk udfordring for den praktiserende tandlæge, idet symptomerne kan imitere odontogene tilstande.
Atypical paiv and neuropathic pain: This article describes the classification, diagnosis, and manage- ment of atypical facial pain, atypical odontalgia, neuropathic orofacial pain, and trigeminal neuralgia. All these conditions are chronic orofacial pain conditions without any evident pathology on clinical or radiological examination. These conditions repre- sent a diagnostic challenge for all dentists, since symptoms may imitate odontogenic pain.
