Inflammatoriske og infektiøse tilstande i næse-bihuler for hoved- og halscancer i Danmark
Inflammatoriske tilstande i næse-bihuler er ud- bredte og omfatter både infektiøse og ikkeinfektiøse sygdomme. Der er tale om et bredt spektrum af sygdomme, hvoraf nogle er velbeskrevet, mens andre fortsat er dårligt forstået. Vi giver i denne artikel et overblik over sygdomme i næse-bihuler, som i kraft af den tætte anatomiske relation til tænderne også har relevans i odontologien. Vi har gennemgået litteraturen med fokus på internationale og aktuelle konsensusartikler. Omkring en tredjedel af den danske befolkning rammes af næse-bihule-sygdom i løbet af et år. Næse-bihule-sygdomme påvirker livskvaliteten betydeligt, og komplikationerne kan være alvorlige. Bihulesygdom kan skyldes et odontogent fokus, ligesom tandsmerter kan skyldes bihulesygdom, hvorfor øre-næse-hals-læger og tandlæger bør samarbejde tæt i tvivlstilfælde.

Inflammatory and infectious diseases in nose and sinuses
Sino-nasal diseases comprise both infectious and non-infectious conditions. Some of these conditions are well understood, others are still subject to international debate. We aim to present an overview of sino-nasal diseases to dentists in Denmark; the close anatomical relationship between the sinuses and the teeth makes this an area of interest within odontology. We reviewed the literature and especially gave weight to recent international consensus documents. In conclusion, approximately one third of the Danish population experience sino-nasal disease each year. Sino-nasal disease can affect the quality of life substantially and, if untreated, it can lead to serious complications. Sino-nasal symptoms are frequently caused by dental disease; likewise, toothache can originate from sino-nasal disease. Therefore rhinologists and dentists must collaborate in uncertain cases.
