Medicinsk teknologivurdering inden for odontologi
Introduktion og formål - Medicinsk teknologivurdering (MTV) er et multidisciplinært værktøj, som omfatter information om evidens, sundhedsøkonomi, organisatoriske konsekvenser og betydning for patienten ved indførelse af en ny teknologi. Brugen af dette værktøj kan generere en bred viden som grundlag for at træffe en politisk beslutning om indførelsen af den givne teknologi. MTV bruges i udstrakt grad inden for det offentlige sundhedssystem. Formålet med denne artikel er at give et overblik over udviklingen af MTV inden for odontologi. Metoder - En litteratursøgning i nationale og internationale MTV-databaser blev foretaget og relevante odontologiske publikationer identificeret. Resultater - Der blev i alt fundet 69 relevante publikationer. Applicering af inklusions- og eksklusionskriterier førte til udvælgelse af 16 odontologiske MTV-publikationer. Der blev kun fundet én dansk odontologisk MTV-rapport. Konklusion - Der findes kun få odontologiske MTV-publikationer på relevante nationale og internationale databaser. Den nationale MTVstrategi er ikke blevet implementeret i hverken privat, offentlig eller akademisk odontologi i Danmark.

Health technology assessment in odontology
Introduction and objectives - Health Technology Assessment (HTA) is a multidisciplinary tool which includes information about evidence, health-economic outcome, organisational consequences and patient-related implications of a given medical technology. The use of this tool can deliver crucial information needed to make a political decision about the implementation of a new technology. HTA is used in hospitals and public health care systems. This paper aims to present an overview of the development of Health Technology Assessment in dentistry. Methods - A literature search in HTA databases was performed to identify HTA-publications related to odontology. Results - A total of 69 publications were found. Following the inclusion and exclusion criteria 16 publications were identified as dental HTAs. Only one HTA report was from Denmark. Conclusions - There are only few HTA reports related to dentistry available in the selected national and international HTA databases, and the National Strategy of HTA has not become a part of academic or clinical odontology in Denmark.
